Labor Day Weekend
Well...here we are. The unofficial last weekend of summer. PG says it must be time to put away the white pants. That's assuming you follow his sartorial suggestions. Not advised! The church office will be officially closed on Monday, September 7, however.

With it being Labor Day weekend, schools have begun, football games, and the Minnesota State Fair is wrapping up! We're excited for our inaugural season of classes here at Crossing Point Church!
Financial Peace University
Did anyone see THIS STORY on the news recently? it looks awfully familiar to many who are alumni of FPU!
Once again, this fall, two of our Elders, Greg K and Jason J, will be hosting Financial Peace University. The class will be held here at CPC on Tuesday evenings starting at 6:30 beginning September 15.
We'll have you sign-up the old school way at the info table, pay the church for the membership (which is $84.30--discounted from $130). WE HAVE SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE IF YOU NEED SOME HELP GETTING STARTED! Jason will get you a workbook and email your membership with access to all the materials for the class. Look for the sign-up sheet at the Connect Table in the hall outside the sanctuary.

We kick off our Wednesday night classes for the whole family here at CPC this week! Some will meet every week, others every other. Here's a list of what's going on and when, with further descriptions of the classes and groups below. All of these start at 6:30pm.
Starting this week, September 9:
Starting this week, September 9:
- CPC Kids' Class - meeting weekly
- Vessels Youth Group - weekly
- Going Strong taught by John H - weekly

Going Strong
One of the offerings starting this Wednesday is "Going Strong," taught by John H. You might have heard two minutes of what this class is about a couple of Sundays ago, but it will begins with the premise from Genesis 6:3 that God has always intended His people to live to at least 120. And that at 120 we should be like Moses ( Deut 34:7 "And Moses was an hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated." KJV).
Part of the approach to that is Isaiah 9:7. "Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this." (KJV)
John explains, "I used to think this scripture said Jesus’s kingdom would go on forever. It does, but more specifically it says that of the increase of both His kingdom and His shalom will continue forever. It is the expectation of my safety, well-being, health, prosperity and overall peace always improving and increasing."

Walking Together

Starting Wednesday, September 9 @6:30 and running every week is Walking Together. It'll be just what it sounds like. Debbie N will lead this group taking advantage of the fantastic trail right outside our front door, and you'll...walk together! It will continue until weather makes it unfeasible.
The Gospel of Matthew
Starting Wednesday, September 16 @6:30 Buddy S will be teaching a class on the Gospel of Matthew. He gave us a glimpse into what that is going to look like a couple of Sundays ago. This class will give ample opportunity to dig into the text, the context, and really learn some things!
Getting to Know You

Also starting Wednesday, September 16 @6:30 is something we've done multiple times so far, and it's always been really good! Getting to Know You is less a "class" than a conversation. It is geared toward new-er attendees to CPC. We can tell you all sorts of things about us and our organization, but we'd like to know YOU, too. Join Pastor Peter and Kayla every other week and let us get to know you, and you get to know others, as well!
Small Groups

We're also working toward having multiple new, limited commitment small groups starting up this fall. Running for a set period of time, you'll not need to commit for the rest of your life, or more, just a pre-determined number of weeks. They are a great way to build some relationships and get to know others who are part of CPC!
We've had a Small Groups interest survey for a few weeks now. If you haven't taken the opportunity to responded to that, we would love to get your input and interest. CLICK HERE for that survey or look for more about it at the Connect Table after service.

Finishing Strong 55+ Small Group
One group that has been meeting periodically for some time now is Finishing Strong, our 55+ group. They've had to change the originally scheduled date, but will be getting together Saturday, September 19 @4pm at Mark B's home in Lake Elmo mere minutes from Crossing Point Church. It is a casual group focused on relationships rather than hardcore study/teaching. If you'd like more information or the address for the get together, please contact the church office.
First Step
If you are relatively new to CPC come meet some of our Staff and Elders, hear about the vision of Crossing Point Church, ask any questions you may have, and meet other members of the church family. The First Step will meet after service on September 27. A little, light lunch will be served, so please CLICK HERE to let us know that you plan to join us.
We Have Lots of Volunteer Opportunities if You're Looking to Get Involved

Pretty much every ministry around the church is needing more help. Especially with the move into the new facility now, we need extras of many ministries. Security is one that we need to expand, just to make sure the extra entrances and children's area are adequately covered.
Our Hospitality Ministry, which includes the Greeter, Usher, Info Table, and Cookie Ministries is looking to include more volunteers. If you are willing, talk to Pastor Peter, or contact the church office.

Our CPC Kid's Ministry is looking for some volunteers, too. What an incredible opportunity to advance the Kingdom by helping bring them up in the "nurture and admonition of the Lord." Talk to Pastor Shiloh or contact the church office about this, too! A background check is required to work with our children's ministry.
The Final Race Outreach of the Season
Our final race outreach of the season is coming up! It's the last chance, until next spring, to be part of this fun opportunity, and the last shot to earn funds for CPC camps/activities over the next year. Pastor Peter is putting the crew together. Contact him or the church office to help out, or for more info about the earning $$ aspect.
Go Joe Coffee

Go Joe Specialty Coffees is open Sundays before service! Find them in Room 23, just outside the gym/sanctuary doors. Listen for the sound of happy latte-lovers and the psssshshhhhhhhhh of the steaming wand, and follow the smell of freshly made specialty coffee drinks prior to service starting!
Like Dirt Under Your Fingernails?
Kayla M is heading up our gardening group that is continuing to take care of the gardens that the elementary school kids planted this spring! Contact the church office, or Kayla personally, to find out what day/time they'll be working this week, or if you have any questions.
Download Our App!

We've had some issues with our app since we moved and changed names. If you find it download our CPC church app from your app store today! Actually, at this point it might still be listed as RVCC in one store...still working on it!
There are all sorts of features, and we're tweaking it to make it even more helpful as a way to stay connected. Service video is streamed there as well as on our YouTube channel. There are groups for communicating and chatting with others in the CPC family, and much more! Search for "Crossing Point Church" or CLICK HERE.

2026 Daily Bible Reading Plan!
One of our top goals as a church is always to help you keep up on (or get into) a daily Bible reading habit. We have a daily reading program available on our app, so it's seriously easy to follow along!
Open the app on your device, click "Bible" on the bottom menu.
From the Bible portion of the app, click "Plan" to take you to the daily readings!
Get into the daily habit now, even if it's not our particular program! We want you to get the WORD in YOU! Contact the church office if you have questions.

Praise Report from Options for Women
SCV-OFW sent out a text recently: "Praise Report! Client who scheduled an abortion this week drove to planned parenthood, however when she arrived, turned around and left, came to Options for her repeat ultrasound appointment. She has decided to keep the baby with support from the father, family and friends and is very excited. Thank God for reaching her just in time!"
That's why we support them. As a church, we're not anti-abortion but PRO-LIFE, and try to back that up by helping out mothers who choose life for their child.
To make it easy to do that, we are always accepting diaper and wipes donations for Options for Women-St. Croix Valley. Organizationally we support Options with a monthly monetary donation, but diapers are one item they always need to help support the mothers relying on their services. Whenever you are shopping and pick some up, drop them off with Pastor Greg at the front office the next time you come to church, and he will make sure they get to OFW.

Elders Ministry

We usually have teams of Elders praying with people at the end of service on Sunday mornings. If you would like to connect with one of our Elders for any reason during the week, contact the church office and we'll get you in touch!
Take Us With You

Podcast listeners can listen to audio from our Sunday morning services on several platforms. Find us on Apple Podcasts [CLICK HERE], and Spotify [CLICK HERE]. Subscribe and listen anywhere, any time, however you like to listen!
We also have an RVFM Podcast gathering messages from our affiliated churches in one spot. [CLICK HERE] if you use Spotify, and [CLICK HERE] if you're an Apple Podcast user!
If you have trouble with any of these, or prefer a different service to these two, contact Pastor Greg in the church office and he'll try to help you sort it out.

No, we're not anticipating making a boatload of money off of an image of the back of your head, or you worshipping with your hands in the air...but we figured it would be a good idea to let you know you could end up on our livestream, social media, etc.
